Ovidiu Crisan received an MS and a Doctor of Science degree, both in Electrical Engineering, in 1960 and 1972, respectively, from the Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara, Romania. He joined the University of Houston in 1984, as a Visiting Professor, and was tenured as Professor in 1991. Dr. Crisan is a member of the Editorial Board of "Electrical Machines and Power Systems", Hemisphere Publishing Corporation. At the University of Houston he directed 4 MS theses and 2 PhD dissertations, and currently is directing two MS theses. He is author or co-author of three books, and 52 referred papers.

 
-• Research and Academics

Ovidiu Crisan's main research and academic focus is in Power Systems Components modeling, Power Systems Operation and Control. Presently, he is concentrated in Voltage Stability/Voltage Collapse research, with direct application to the Electric Utilities.
