The mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Houston is to educate its students to be productive engineers and responsible citizens in the changing environment of the 21st century.
This mission is achieved by:
upholding traditions of high academic standards in the classroom and in non-classroom educational activities, and encouraging students with non-traditional and diverse ethnic backgrounds;
creating, discovering and disseminating new knowledge through research and scholarly activity; and
serving as a resource for the constituencies of the University of Houston and the profession of civil and environmental engineering.
The BSCE degree program is continually monitored and assessed to ensure that it meets the needs of our constituencies including our students, and the civil engineering profession as represented by the employers of our graduates and the CEE Advisory Board Members.
