Scholarship Applications

Incoming Freshman Scholarship Application
The Cullen College of Engineering offers a large number of automatic merit-based scholarships each Fall to incoming freshman. These scholarships supplement University Merit Scholarships, and generally require an SAT of 1200 or above and top 15% class rank. Qualified students will be AUTOMATICALLY considered when they apply for admission to the University of Houston. No separate application is necessary.

Current Student Undergraduate Scholarship Application
This scholarship application is open to current Cullen College of Engineering Students. The scholarships available in The Cullen College of Engineering Dean’s Office are competitive and in general requires:
   - Cumulative GPA: 3.0, Major GPA: 3.0
Application Deadline: Application may be filed at any time, although decisions about awards are made in mid-summer before the Fall semester.

Industrial Scholar Interns Program
The Industrial Scholar Interns Program (ISIP) through the Cullen College of Engineering offers a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate engineering students to obtain scholarship funding plus earn extra money and valuable work experience through an internship available to program participants during their junior and senior years. Participants receive $2,500 in scholarship funds each year for four years.
Application Deadline: March 1 (Other than incoming freshmen, all current engineering student applications may be filed at any time.)

Society of Iranian American Women for Education Scholarship
The recipient(s) of the scholarship will be determined by the Cullen College of Engineering Scholarship Selection Committee based on the following criteria:
   - Preference given to Engineering students who are fluent in both English and Farsi.
   - Scholarship applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate with a 2.5 GPA or above or a graduate degree-seeking student with a 3.0 GPA or above, in good standing at the University of Houston.
   - Scholarship recipient must maintain a GPA in accordance with the standards set by the Cullen College of Engineering Scholarship Committee.
   - Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with The Society of Iranian American Women for Education Scholarship.
   - Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

The John Lienhard "Engines of our Ingenuity" Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any creative-thinking undergraduate student at the University of Houston. The scholarship recipient receives $2,000 for one year. To qualify, a student must be full-time (12 hours or more) with a 3.00 GPA or better.
Application Deadline: Application may be filed at any time, although decisions about awards are made in mid-summer before the Fall semester.
